Q1: What is the Assigned To function and what does it show me?
Assigned To shows you which team is currently responsible for an application at its current stage. It sits alongside the Overview panel: Overview gives you the stage information for the application, while Assigned To tells you exactly who is holding it right now.
Q2: Where do I find the Assigned To button?
On your workflow overview screen, look for an orange block next to an application. This is the Assigned To button. It's easy to miss because it reads as plain text rather than looking like a typical button, but it is clickable.
What to do:
- Go to your workflow overview.
- Select the application you want to check.
- Click the orange Assigned To block to see the responsible team.
Q3: Why do the team names change as my application moves through the workflow?
The Assigned To information updates automatically as an application progresses. As an application moves from initial risk into approval level one, then into level two or level three, the names shown under Assigned To change to reflect whichever team is responsible at that stage. If your risk team differs from your approval teams, each will display correctly as the application moves forward.
Q4: What does it mean if Assigned To shows no team members?
If no team members are listed, the application currently sits outside your company. It's either with your customer, or with Trade Shield while it moves through automated processing. Knowing this tells you who to follow up with, and roughly how long that party typically takes to respond.
Q5: How do I use Assigned To to follow up on a delayed application?
Assigned To exists specifically so you can check exactly who is holding your application. If it's been sitting for a while, this is the fastest way to identify who to contact instead of guessing.
What to do:
- Open the application in your workflow overview and check Assigned To.
- Note which team is shown, and follow up with them directly.
- If your business uses departments to segment approvals, contact the relevant department head, not just any member of that team.
ⓘ Tip: Spend a few minutes exploring Assigned To across applications at different stages. Once checking it becomes a habit, you'll spot delays and know who to contact much faster.
