How to Initiate a Skip Application With a Paper-Based Application

Use this guide when a credit application was completed on paper and you need to initiate it in Trade Shield using the Skip Application route. You will upload the completed paper-based application and any supporting documents, then submit for vetting and credit limit assessment.

Start a New Credit Application

Log in to Trade Shield at app.fabricworkflows.com and navigate to the Start Workflow button. Select the credit application type that matches your applicant's request.

Search for the Applicant

Use the search bar to find the applicant as you normally would. Type the company name or registration number to locate the correct entity.

Complete the Applicant Information Page

Fill in the Applicant Information page using the details from the paper-based application. Verify that all fields — trading name, registered address, and contact details — match the paper form exactly before continuing.

Select the Skip Application Button

On the credit application form, locate and click the Skip Application button. A motivation field will appear — enter a brief, clear explanation of why the application is being submitted via paper documentation rather than the digital form.

Once all documents are uploaded and tagged with the correct document types, click the Initiate button to submit the application. Your part of the process is now complete.
