1. Workflow Initiation Enhancements
New guidance text during initiation: clearly asks for the name and contact details of the person responsible for completing the credit application.
Helps sales or credit control teams provide correct information upfront
2. Improved Workflow Visibility
Requester visibility added: salespeople or credit initiators now get email updates at key stages:
Application sent back (with reason, e.g., missing bank statements).
Application resubmitted by the customer.
Application failed again but is still being processed.
Keeps both sales teams and customers informed, reducing confusion.
3. Validation and Risk Knockout
Risk knockout checks: judgments, business age, payment history, etc.
Configurable: companies can choose to only see failures or all results.
Validation step ensures correct supporting documents (bank statements, audited financials) are provided before progressing
4. Research Report & Approval Flow
Trade Shield compiles a research report for financial analysis.
Optional credit insurance step: request and upload confirmation of cover.
Up to five approval levels, configurable by value thresholds (e.g., under R50k → Credit Controller; above R1m → Finance Manager).
New Data Capture Step: assign team members to open accounts in ERP systems
5. User Interface & Customer Experience Updates
Pop-ups and guidance:
Requirements for valid bank statements and financials clearly displayed.
"Click here" links for POPIA consent and T&Cs made more visible and colour-coded in company branding.
Did You Know? and training pop-ups on the home screen (can be closed).
Customers now have a Help button to chat directly with Trade Shield support
6. System Access & Support
.Single Sign-On (SSO): “Remember Me” option remembers email for easier login.
Expanded Help options:
In-platform help button.
Ability to book one-on-one training sessions directly via the system.
AI assistant available for quick support.
Customers and users can now also contact Trade Shield via WhatsApp.
7. Workflow Stage Names (Coming Soon)
Stages will use friendly, descriptive names (e.g., “Send to Customer to Complete Application” instead of “Request to Complete Information”).
Companies can customise step names (e.g., “Amy Price’s Approval” instead of “Level 1 Approval”).
Workflow overview will display:
Current stage and current step.
Hover descriptions of what each step means and who is responsible
8. Other Updates
New Trade Shield portal link in use (old links may cause errors).
Q&A functionality in training sessions for live interaction.
Dark mode for questionnaires has been raised as a future feature request
